This also means I’m keeping my introductions short for the nonce. Let’s do this Wordle!

Wordle Bot Analysis

After each Wordle I solve I head over to the Wordle Bot homepage to see how my guessing game was.

Can you solve today’s phrase?

Not too shabby today, though my opening guess—nurse—left me with a whopping 175 remaining options. Somehow chair slashed that number to just 1, which is wildly lucky but also a solid guess, if I do say so myself. All that was left was actor for the win!

Today’s Score

I get 1 point for guessing in three and 0 for tying the Bot. 1 point! Huzzah!

Today’s Wordle Etymology

The word “actor” has its roots in Latin. It comes from the Latin word “actor,” which means “doer, performer,” derived from “agere,” meaning “to do, to act.” The transition to the current English usage occurred around the late 16th century, with the term initially applying to stage performers. Over time, its usage expanded to include performers in other media, like film and television. The Latin root “agere” is also the source of words like “agent” and “act.”
