‘Trying’ Season 4 Trailer — Rafe Spall Faces Parenting Challenges

After three seasons of creating an ideal nuclear family, Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) finally have everything they've always wanted in the hit Apple TV+ comedy series trying. The show of the writer, creator and executive producer Andy Wolton So far, she has pursued her efforts to have children by any means necessary, eventually turning to the adoption process and the myriad challenges that come with it. Now that they've figured it all out and Tyler and Princess are in their custody, they're ready for the real trials and tribulations that come with raising adopted children. A new trailer shows the family facing new obstacles together six years later, as the children enter a new stage in their lives.

In Season 4, the family is mostly set for the foreseeable future with a roof over their heads, a tight-knit support network, and the stress of never being apart again. However, everyone still faces their own problems. The trailer shows that Nikki and Jason rarely spend time without their children, and parenting doesn't get any easier with age. Tyler struggles as the unpopular kid at school, but his father is there to support him by starting a youth soccer team full of other neighborhood misfits. Most complicated of all for Nikki and Jason is Princess, who is now a teenager and has questions for her birth mother, who left her when she was five. She's determined to find answers, even if she has to start digging and travel alone to rekindle that connection.

Throughout, parents are more than ready to pick up their kids when they're down and talk to them about what's bothering them. This life is the one they've always wanted throughout the series, and now they get the chance to face it warts and all. While the heartwarming series will tackle a lot of more serious topics this time around, it never forgets to throw in a few laughs along the way. Humor about the awkwardness and chaos of parenting and adulthood he still plays in the trailer and is a big part of why trying has continued to be a hit on Apple TV+.

Who's Starring in 'Trying' Season 4?

Joining them are BAFTA Award nominee Smith and SAG Award nominee Pall trying Season 4 for a comeback Sian Brooke and BAFTA winner Darren Boyd among others. Newcomers to the cast this time include Sexy beast alum Scarlett Rayner i Cooper Turner, who play the older princess and Tyler respectively. Outside of the cast, the soundtrack for these eight episodes will be provided by the London pop star SCHOLARSHIP, whose first single “Forever” can be heard in the trailer.
