A video clip published on Twitter by DAZN Espana has revealed FC Barcelona youngster Gavi giving veteran teammate Robert Lewandowski a scolding during their recent match with Sevilla.

Furthermore, onlookers have deduced that the footage demonstrates the midfielder is Barca’s ‘captain without an armband’ for attributes such as his leadership and winning mentality, plus the way he protects his teammates.

As said, the incident with Lewandowski occurred during Friday’s 1-0 win over Sevilla at the Montjuic Stadium.

The three points picked up were vital in Barca temporarily returning to the top of La Liga ahead of Real Madrid thrashing Girona 3-0, and kept the heat on Los Blancos ahead of an October 28 installment of El Clasico.

Barca only managed to scrape the victory thanks to a late Sergio Ramos own goal forced by Gavi’s fellow teen sensation Lamine Yamal.

Before then, however, there were plenty of tense moments with either side capable of taking the lead as the Andalusians also chased an equalizer late on.

One moment of tension towards the death was picked up by DAZN’s Super 8 cameras, and has since been uploaded to social media while discussed by their presenters and punditry team.

In it, the focus is on Gavi who throws his hands up into the air in the penalty box and heads over towards the wing.

“Damn, Robert!,” Gavi bellows at Lewandowski, who has just conceded a free kick in a dangerous position.

“Don’t do a foul there, damn man!” the 19-year-old adds.

Walking in the Golden Boy’s direction, Lewandowski lets out a smile and seems amused by the courage that someone almost half his age has to give such a decorated and respected figure as the Pole a dressing down.

Another discussed piece of footage in the clip shows a second incident with Gavi taking prominence.

Winger Joao Felix is fouled by Lucas Ocampos, but rather than let the Portuguese deal with the matter himself, or perhaps get booked for clashing with the Argentine in a war of words plus a bit of push and shove, it is Gavi who rushes to his teammate’s aid.

Gavi helps diffuse the situation, but we know for a fact he would have been on the front line had the bit of afters taken a violent turn.

With Marc-Andre ter Stegen Barca’s current captain given the frequency that the formally deemed first owner of the armband Sergi Roberto is benched, expect Gavi to move up the rankings in the near future as one of four skippers because displays such as this.

Calling the number 6 the “soul” and “heart with legs” in his first XI, head coach Xavi Hernandez is clearly a fan too.
