We Know Who’s Behind Enoch’s Golden Mask In ‘Ahsoka,’ Sort Of

Business

It seems we cannot go two episodes in Ahsoka without speculating who is behind a specific mask. First it was imagining that Starkiller or Cal Kestis was behind the mask of Marrok, the Inquisitor helping Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati, only to discover he was not even a person, but made out of literal magic witch dust.

Now we have a new, fun mask. That would be Enoch, the captain of Grand Admiral Thrawn’s Night Troopers who arrived in a Roman-like golden face mask in this week’s episode of Ahsoka, probably one of the most striking visuals of the episode.

So who is Enoch? Enoch is…Enoch. He is not a Clone Wars or Rebels character, he is not hiding some sort of Star Wars legend behind that mask. He was a character specifically created for the Ahsoka series.

But we do know who is literally behind the mask, someone I would consider sci-fi royalty. That would be Wes Chatham, who played Amos in The Expanse, who you might argue is the best character in that entire series, and you would be right.

Outside of that, you’ve likely seen Chatham here or there in The Hunger Games or Tenet, but obviously his most iconic role was Amos across 62 episodes and six seasons, a show so good that Jeff Bezos was such a big fan he personally saved it from ending prematurely and brought it to Amazon.

Chatham is a great actor and has been floated as a possible MCU Wolverine option. Floated mostly by me but I mean, come on, look at this guy.

It remains unclear if Enoch will ever de-mask in Ahsoka so Chatham himself gets some face time. My guess is that would be somewhat unlikely as we usually only see Stormtroopers take off their helmets if they’re Luke Skywalker or Finn Balor. While there are just two episodes left in this season of Ahsoka, we’ll see if Enoch gets something like a cool fight scene or lives until season 2 (if that exists?).

Anyway, this is hardly the biggest Ahsoka news story, but this time I wanted to cut off “mask speculation” early and point out to Expanse fans who is under there, as it was first pointed out to me. I hope we see more of Chatham both in this show and hopefully other projects to come.
