NBC is the latest network to reveal its post-strike lineup, and the revised winter schedule includes returning premiere dates for scripted TV shows like Dick Wolf’s Law & Order and One Chicago franchises.
The One Chicago shows will air on Wednesdays starting on Jan. 17. Chicago Med will kick things off at 8 p.m. ET, followed by Chicago Fire (which will feature the awaited return of Taylor Kinney) and the police drama Chicago P.D.
The next night, season 23 of Law & Order debuts at 8 p.m. EST, followed by the 25th season of Law & Order: SVU and the Christopher Meloni-led spinoff Law & Order: Organized Crime at 10 p.m. EST.
The new NBC comedy Extended Family will premiere on Dec. 23 at 8 p.m. EST after the NFL game between the Cincinatti Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers, with season 2 of Night Court to follow. (Both shows will then be moving into their regular Tuesdays time slots starting on Jan. 2.)

The new lineup also comes with bitter news. NBC announced that La Brea will be ending with its third season. The final installment of the drama series will air on Jan. 9 at 9 p.m. EST before the final two episodes of the first season of Found.
“Building off the momentum of a strong fall, we’re entering midseason with a powerhouse schedule that leans into the strength of both beloved titles and new shows while also growing our audience across NBC and Peacock,” said Frances Berwick, chairman of NBCUniversal Entertainment, according to Variety.
The TV executive continued, “This season brings fresh takes on favorites, including the first double-chair on ‘The Voice,’ a new spin on ‘America’s Got Talent’ and a tropical setting for ‘Deal or No Deal Island,’ as well as the return of last season’s top comedy ‘Night Court,’ Jon Cryer’s return to network television with ‘Extended Family’ and the much-anticipated return of #OneChicago and the ‘Law & Order’ franchise – all of which continue to establish NBC as a destination for our loyal fans.”

As for non-scripted programs, spinoffs America’s Got Talent Fantasy League and Deal or No Deal Island (hosted by Joe Manganiello) will premiere on New Year’s Day and Feb. 26, respectively. The popular singing competition The Voice is also slated to return on Monday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. EST for Season 25. Reba McEntire, John Legend, Chance the Rapper and country duo Dan + Shay were previously confirmed as judges.
Over the last week, CBS and ABC both released their respective winter slates, but as of now, NBC will be the first to begin airing new scripted shows. According to Variety, both the Night Court and Extended Family filmed episodes prior to the Hollywood strikes. Meanwhile, Wolf Entertainment’s series are expected to start production right after Thanksgiving and are looking to film around 10-13 episodes per show.
The revised schedule comes more than a week after the actors’ union reached a tentative agreement with Hollywood studios to end the nearly four-month strike that halted the work of thousands of entertainment workers and delayed numerous TV and film projects. After gaining the board’s approval on Nov. 10, the 160,000-member actors guild started voting for the new agreement last week.
