Bruce Willis holds Rumer Willis' daughter Lou in Sweet Photo for the toddler's first birthday
Rumer Willis has been endlessly inspired by the mother Demi Moorebut she doesn't just follow in her mother's footsteps when it comes to raising her own daughter, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis.
“We're in such a different time, there's so much more information,” Rumer told E! News' Francesca Amiker at the premiere of his film My divorce party during the 24th annual Beverly Hills Film Festival. “My mom will say, 'You should do this with her,' and I'll say, 'In factfrom what i've been reading, you do not do it do it more.”
Which in no way means Rumer, who shares 12-month-old Lou with her partner Derek Richard Thomas, believes he has all the answers. Rather, Demi's eldest and ex-husband Bruce WillisThree daughters is fascinated by the fact that it is no just mirroring her own mother when it comes to the decisions she is making.
“When you're in that transition from maidenhood to motherhood, and you have a very close relationship with your mother, there's an interesting separation that occurs as you figure out your own path as a mother,” Rumer explained. “There are things I take from him that I love, but there are also things I want to discover myself.”
Whether that's the best course of action or not, he added with a laugh: “We inevitably wind up our kids in opposite ways, don't we?”
