Simone Biles is ready to flip the script on her Olympic history.
Collaborating with other Tokyo 2020 Games vets Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles i Sunny Lee– in addition to novice Hezly Rivera and alternate Jocelyn Roberson i Leanne Wong— it's a bit of “deja vu”, admitted the seven-time medalist Today's Hoda Kotbmoments after the squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics was announced on June 30, “but it also feels like a bit of a redemption tour. In Tokyo, not all of us had our best performances, so we're excited to go out -hi. and kill him.”
For Biles, it was a debilitating case of the “twisties” that caused her to pull out of several events in Japan three years ago.
“We won the silver,” the 27-year-old admitted to Kotb. “We'll say that, but there were definitely some things we had to overcome during that meet, and I think we all have a little bit more to give.”
And with three more years of falling, jumping and hooking the landing under her leotards, “I know we're more mature,” Biles continued. “I think our gymnastics is better. I think we have a little more confidence in what we're doing, so we're excited.”
