The Bet Awards 2024 have officially been turned upside down, all thanks to Will Smith.

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air Alum took the stage at the awards show held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on June 30 to perform her new single “You Can Make It” about redemption. (And for more highlights, check out all the stars in attendance here.)

Appearing in a ring of fire on stage, Will rapped about enduring tough times alongside The Choir of Sunday Services.

“The darker the hell you have to endure, the brighter the heaven you can enjoy,” he sang. “In every storm the rain ends, wait.”

Will's performance, his first solo show since his slap at the 2022 Oscars, also encouraged listeners to dance through their darkest moments.

“Nobody has an easy journey. We all have a cross to bear,” christened the 55-year-old. “But there is wisdom in this fire.”

His catchy ballad debut serves as his first solo track release in over six years, but it's not the first time in recent months that Will has taken the mic back.
