Miss AI, the world's first beauty pageant to judge the best artificial intelligence (AI) models and influencers, has been announced. The competition is organized by the World AI Creator Awards (WAIC) and aims to recognize the achievements of AI creators around the world. According to the listing on the website, the pageant will award prizes totaling $20,000 (roughly Rs. 16.7 lakhs) to the winners. Registrations for Miss AI opened on April 14, and any creator of an AI-generated model can register. The creator must have a presence on social networks and be over 18 years old.

Details of WAIC's inaugural Miss AI event have been revealed on the official website (via Forbes ), and the program intends to host other similar awards focused on fashion, diversity and men generated by i.a. Miss AI focuses on AI-generated female models or social media influencers, who have been created entirely with an AI tool. There is no restriction on the tool used to create the model. In particular, OpenAI's DALL-E 3, Midjourney, and Copilot Designer are popular tools for creating AI avatars.

While the concept of an AI influencer contest may seem strange, the event's website claims that participants will be judged on three criteria: beauty, technology and social influence. The beauty approach is to assess classic aspects of showmanship such as beauty, balance and answers to a series of questions. Technology will focus on the skills to use and implement AI tools to create the AI model. The use of prompts to create outputs will also be assessed.

WAIC explained the social impact criteria and said: “The social influence of AI creators will be assessed based on their number of fan engagements, audience growth rate and utilization of other platforms like Instagram,” according to the publication. A points-based system will be used to score each creator in the three categories with an overall score given to each participant.

A panel of four judges will evaluate all entrants, according to WAIC. Interestingly, two of them are influential in AI themselves. Aitana Lopez with over 30k followers and Emily Pellegrini with 28.1k followers on Instagram are both digital avatars. Alongside, entrepreneur Andrew Bloch and beauty pageant judge Sally-Ann Fawcett will also sit on the panel representing real humans.

While no date has been revealed for the online awards ceremony, it is said to be held later this month. The winners will be announced on May 10. The winner of the contest will receive a cash prize of $5,000 (Rs. 4.1 Lakhs approximately). Other prizes for the winner and runner-up include mentorship programs, promotional packages and PR support.
