Xiaomi Announces Mobile Service Camps to Commemorate 10th Anniversary in India

Xiaomi India on Tuesday announced new mobile service camps through social media platforms to mark its tenth anniversary in the country. The program, which has already started, will be valid at authorized Xiaomi service centers. According to the company, users can enjoy services such as free mobile health checks and free software updates. Also, users who want to repair their phones can get discounts on spare parts.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Xiaomi announced that it will be organizing “Mobile Service Camps” at its authorized service centers. The campaign started on July 1st and will run until July 31st. At these locations, Xiaomi smartphone users will be able to avail free services such as health checks on their phones and even update them to the latest firmware.

In addition, it also announced special discounts of up to 50 percent on spare parts. The company said, “Celebrating #XiaomiIndia's 10th Anniversary with 'Mobile Service Fields' exclusively at Xiaomi Authorized Service Centers!”

The Chinese company first entered the Indian smartphone market in 2014 with its Mi 3 phone. It has set up seven factories in the country in the following years with an operational capacity of three smartphones per second, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' initiative. It has expanded its portfolio which now includes smart TVs, power banks, tablets and wearable devices.

Xiaomi claims that 99 percent of the smartphones it sells in India are locally manufactured, with 65 percent of its value sourced locally. In December 2023, it started a pilot project to export smartphones to countries like Bangladesh and Nepal.

On June 26, Xiaomi India announced the 'Swasth Mahila Swasth Bharat' campaign in partnership with the Yuvraj Singh Foundation (YouWeCan) as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations. Through this initiative, it will organize early cancer screenings for more than 1,50,000 women in 15 Indian states over the next 12 months.
