Zepp Health Launches Zepp OS 4 With OpenAI’s GPT-4o Integration to Offer Personalised Wellness Solutions

Zepp Health, the parent company of Amazfit, announced the release of Zepp OS 4 on Tuesday. The new operating system for its smartwatches includes the integration of OpenAI's latest GPT-4o artificial intelligence (AI) model and offers multiple new features. The company claims that compatible Amazfit wearables will have voice command capabilities, new personalized wellness features, and better messaging and Bluetooth integration. Currently, Zepp OS 4 has been released for Amazfit Balance and Amazfit Active smartwatches. Support for the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra, Falcon and Cheetah series will be added later this year.

Zepp OS 4 with GPT-4o integration has been released

In a press release, Zepp Health announced the fourth major update to the Zepp OS and revealed the new features it would bring to compatible devices. The company emphasized that the GPT-4o integration aimed to improve the functionality of Amazfit smartwatches and provide more useful responses. There is also a focus on personalized wellness solutions.

One of the highlights of the new OS is the addition of voice commands to Zepp Flow. The main interface of the Zepp operating system will allow users to control the device with natural language interactions. Users can manage settings, reply to messages from apps like WhatsApp, and initiate Bluetooth phone calls just by speaking the command. Notably, the WhatsApp integration is only available on Android for now. The company said iOS support will be added later this year.

Zepp OS 4 can also use GPT-4o's AI capabilities to respond verbally to the user, eliminating the need to read written responses on the screen. The operating system currently supports English and German languages, but the company said it will add support for French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese later this month.

Two more interesting features shipped with Zepp OS 4. First, improved Bluetooth capabilities, allowing users to control compatible devices such as speakers, cycling meters, and even GoPro cameras directly from the smartwatch . Several new applets have also been added to the app store. These widgets are aimed at helping users while doing outdoor activities and playing sports.

Finally, GPT-4o's AI capabilities have been used to customize wellness solutions. Zepp Aura can now support AI-powered sleep guidance and Zepp Coach can provide real-time fitness training. The company said new capabilities in the Zepp Health ecosystem will be added regularly.
