Keir Starmer is neither strong nor trustworthy enough to be Prime Minister

With Rishi Sunak doing his best to try and prove to the country that he is the man to lead the nation for the next five years, questions are being asked if Keir Starmer has what it takes to be prime minister.

In 2021, a poll found that 7 out of 10 Labor voters felt he was not the right man for the job and instead thought Andy Burnham would make a better Labor leader and Prime Minister.

The Mayor of Manchester is like Marmite, you either like him or you hate him, there is no in between. But one thing is for sure, he has more backbone than Keir Starmer and doesn't sit on the fence on important issues.

Keir Starmer took over as leader of the Labor Party in 2020 with high hopes of reinvigorating the party after a period of internal turmoil. However, his leadership has faced criticism from both the party and the general public.

There has been criticism of his leadership, including not answering important questions, changing his mind on important ones every two minutes and not showing enough support for unions.

Andy Burnham, the mayor of Greater Manchester, has emerged as a potential alternative to Keir Starmer. He was always rated as a strong leader as an MP and now as Mayor of Manchester, he has won the respect of those in the North and some in the South.

One of the main challenges facing the Labor Party is not just a lack of confidence in Keir Starmer, but also his struggle to reconnect with the wider electorate.

As the party strives to regain its relevance and appeal, the Labor Party must carefully consider the attributes and qualities needed in a leader who can bridge the gap between the party and the public. However, many believe that Keir Starmer does not have these qualities.

In2Town Today News has spoken privately to some Labor MPs and they agree that Keir Starmer does not have what it takes to be a credible and workable Prime Minister. However, they have said it would be suicidal to have a new leadership campaign so close to a general election, especially when Labor looks set to win.

Andy Burnham is not the only person who voters and some MPs believe would make a better leader than Keir Starmer. Angela Rayner has also been described as a confident leader and better than Keir Starmer.

There is no doubt in the minds of Labor voters that Keir Starmer will be the next Prime Minister, the question is, for how long and when will there be a new leadership challenge?
