Most sequels to good movies don't live up to the legacy of their predecessor. The success rate for the third installments of a franchise is even lower. And yet, the latest trailer for A Quiet Place: First Day it makes us think it might be one of the rare parts of the third installment that actually ends up being the best entry in the entire series. This intense and terrifying promo shows a swarm of alien invaders turning New York City into a silent and isolated wasteland. But this is only the beginning of their fight for survival.

Every war starts somewhere, and in this last look A Quiet Place: First Day this place is in the Big Apple. The prequel will keep viewers coming back to when humanity's desperation to stay alive began. The film opens with monstrous creatures hunting for a terrifying sound in The City That Never Sleeps. But like the trailer for A Quiet Place: First Day reveals, it's not just the murderous aliens that New Yorkers will have to defeat.

The good citizens of New York are stranded with seemingly no way out of the city as the government chooses to pin both humans and aliens on the island. The effect is a story it seems The war of the worlds set within the fantastic flashbacks of i am legend. It's a movie we're really looking forward to seeing.

A Quiet Place: First Day comes from writer and director Michael Sarnoski. He developed the story with franchise creator John Krasinski. It also stars some of the great luminaries of horror cinema. The cast is led by Lupita Nyong'o (We), Joseph Quinn (Strange things), and Alex Wolff (Hereditary). I A Quiet Place Part II Star Djimon Hounsou is also back for a more silent terror.

The prequel hits theaters this summer on June 28, 2024. Try not to scream when you see it, even if it ends up being the best A Quiet Place movie yet With these aliens, it's best to keep it low.
