Alleged rape victim’s mum ‘demanded $50k’ from accused

Crown prosecutor Melissa Wilson later told the jury that the alleged victim had no knowledge of the alleged demand for money.

The girl had stated that she woke up in the couple's bed being sexually assaulted by Christopher Hili as Lee Hili stroked her hair and told her to shut up.

She said she was then sexually assaulted by Lee Hili while a pornographic film was playing on a nearby TV.

Defense lawyer Gregory McGuire asked Lee Hili if he had sexually assaulted the girl or if he had been present while she was being assaulted.

“Absolutely not,” said Lee Hili.

He told the court he had just tried to calm the girl down after finding her in the couple's room and suffering a panic attack.

Under cross-examination by Wilson, Lee Hili denied asking the girl about her sexual preferences and experience before the alleged assaults.

Lee Hili accepted Christopher Hili had smoked cannabis, but said he did not have any on the night in question and did not supply it to the girl.

Wilson asked Lee Hili about the footage from his home security camera that showed Christopher Hili outside his bedroom while he was naked around 2:50 a.m. after the party.

Lee Hili said her husband left the room to smoke and urinate outside since they were on a large block away from neighbors.

“Was that after the rape?” said Wilson.

Lee Hili said “no”.

The jury was scheduled to hear a closing statement Friday from Christopher Hili's attorney, Scott Lynch.
