Apple Pencil Pro Name Spotted on Japanese Website Ahead of ‘Let Loose’ Event

Technology

Apple Pencil Pro could be the name of the company's next-generation wireless stylus accessory that is expected to arrive at Apple's next launch event. The iPhone maker is expected to launch new iPad Air and iPad Pro models at its “Let Loose” launch event, along with a new Apple Pencil, which could be the first of its kind to carry the moniker “Pro”. Last October, the company released an improved Apple Pencil that swapped the proprietary Lightning connector for a USB Type-C port.

User X (formerly Twitter) Newral (@rsuOvO) was revealed on the Gizmodo Discord server (road @ribu_ap712) that the text “Apple Pencil Pro” was detected on the company's Japanese website, as well as in the alt text for a GIF on the site: the alt text is used by accessibility software to read media descriptions to to visually impaired users. . Gadgets 360 reviewed the website's source code and found six examples of the rumored nickname.

It's worth noting that none of Apple's other websites, including the Apple India site, mention the Apple Pencil Pro in the source code. While it could end up being the name of Apple's next-generation wireless stylus accessory, its inclusion could also be a mistake by an Apple employee.

This isn't the company's first hint that a new Apple Pencil model is coming: the company's website in several countries now lets you hover over the Apple logo and, then move it to delete it. Doing so will replace the deleted logo with five more logos.

Previous reports suggest that an upcoming Apple Pencil will arrive with support for a new pressure gesture with iPadOS 17.5, meaning users could apply a little pressure to the pencil to erase content on their iPad. According to a report, the next-generation Apple Pencil model could also work with an upcoming version of visionOS.
