For months now, fans of the South Korean girl group Blackpink have been worried about the future of the band. Now, it seems that the singers that comprise the outfit have all agreed to continue working together.

According to a report published by South Korean news agency Naver, all four members of Blackpink have renewed their contract with their record label YG Entertainment. The singers–Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé–are all on board to remain a quartet, though for how long wasn’t immediately shared.

Naver reports that YG shared a quote confirming the good news. The company stated, “We have completed a board resolution on the signing of a group exclusive contract for all four members of our artist BLACKPINK.”

YG has been negotiating with Blackpink for months now, looking to extend its contract with the massively popular girl group. The band’s contract concluded recently, after the band had been together for seven years, which is common practice in the K-pop industry.

Reports have been leaking in South Korea about what may or may not happen with Blackpink. Some claimed that all four members were seeking solo contracts with other record labels, including many based in America. Others suggested that the singers might sign deals on their own and also continue with Blackpink, perhaps in a lesser context, or maybe without all four original members.

In the past few years, Blackpink has become the top-selling girl group in the world. They scored their first No. 1 album in the U.S. in 2023, when Born Pink debuted atop the Billboard 200. They have also charted nine hits on the Hot 100, making them one of the most successful K-pop acts in American history.

At the same time that Blackpink was succeeding as a group, the individual members also pursued creative endeavors on their own. All four have released music on their own, with some finding more commercial success than others. They have also worked as models and actors, and future projects are in the works for many, if not all of them.
