Authorities are trying to locate Slack's co-founder Stewart Butterfieldthe 16-year-old boy.
Mint Butterfield was last seen April 21 in Bolinas, Calif., a deputy with the Marin County Sheriff's Office said in a statement posted on the department's Nextdoor account April 23. Police added that the teenager is approximately 5'0″ tall, weighs 100 pounds, has curly reddish-brown hair and pierced eyebrows and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, flannel pajama pants the and black boots.
“They may have had a gray suitcase with them,” the statement said. “Mint is believed to have headed to the San Francisco area after fleeing.”
The teenager's father, who stepped down as CEO of Slack in 2022 after the startup was sold to Salesforce, and mother Caterina Fakethe ex-wife of the billionaire who co-founded the image-hosting service Flickr with him in 2004, has not commented publicly about Mint, their only child.
Mint's mother, who has a residence in San Francisco, reported the teenager missing to police on April 22, said a Marin County Sheriff's Office sergeant. San Francisco Chronicleand adds that the boy “is believed to be in the Llom” of the city, a neighborhood that they are known to frequent.
