Giancarlo Esposito Has Joined the MCU (But Not as Professor X)

TV

Giancarlo Esposito has revealed that he has finally joined the MCU. There has been a lot of discussion about a possible Marvel casting for Esposito, with some early rumors surrounding him playing Professor X in the MCU. However, it appears that Giancarlo Esposito will not be playing the X-Men leader, but instead has joined the MCU as a mystery character. Esposito says her character will be “new and fresh.”

The audio from the video, which we saw for the first time GameSpot, is cut at the beginning. But it looks like Esposito started off by confirming that she would be in an MCU movie, sharing something like, “Being in a Marvel movie, that's going to happen.” After that, Esposito goes on to say, “I can't promise you it's going to be Professor X, because that's what I think. I think there is something to being original. We've seen different versions of Professor X. Wouldn't you like to see me play a character from a Marvel movie that's original, new and fresh? So mark my words: this will happen sooner than you think.”

But which MCU character will Giancarlo Esposito play? He could join Thunderbolts, Captain America: Brave New World, or The Fantastic Four? Could Esposito have been in a yet-to-be-announced project? It's too early to tell. But we're happy to have him on board either way.
