Google Play Store has quietly launched a new feature that will make life a little easier for users. Android's default app market now allows users to download multiple new apps simultaneously, eliminating the need to wait to download apps one by one, which can be time-consuming, especially if the app size is large . However, there are some restrictions on the feature and unfortunately users will not be able to download 10-15 apps at the same time.
We at Gadgets 360 found that Google Play Store allows you to download two new apps at the same time. This means that if you install two apps, they will be downloaded together and not one after the other. However, adding a third app sends it to the pending list and starts downloading when either app is installed. Another thing to note is that the feature is only available for new or new downloads. When an existing application is updated, it follows the queue system and is downloaded one by one.

While not ideal given that Apple's App Store can handle three simultaneous downloads at once, it's certainly an improvement over how Google has handled app downloads since the creation of the Play Store. Basically, the new feature now adds downloads in batches of two. When users switch to a new phone and download a large number of apps together, this can cut the time in half.
However, it is still unclear why Google decided to keep the limit at two apps. One possible reason could be to ensure less data capping, as multiple parallel downloads can quickly eat up network speed, making all apps take much longer to download than they would one by one. Another reason, as suggested by a report from 9to5Google, could be that the Android maker is testing the feature and plans to increase the number of apps that can be downloaded simultaneously later.
Google has been busy at work since its annual Google I/O developer conference will be held on May 14, and the company is expected to unveil Android 15 during the keynote session. According to a report, one of the new features the tech giant could add is NFC wireless charging that would allow users to charge devices that don't have a built-in wireless charging solution, but have NFC support.
