The smallest member of Olivia MunnThe family of made the biggest difference in her fight against breast cancer.
The newsroom alum opened up about how his 2-year-old son Malcolmwith whom he shares John Mulaney, played an important role in her health journey. Reposting a video of herself and the little boy playing next to a paddling pool in the backyard, Olivia wrote in an Instagram story on April 22: “This moment was the last summer when I had already had three surgeries and the recovery, mentally and physically, was quite rough.”
“It's the smaller, sillier moments like this that lift me up every time,” he continued. “My Malcolm.”
In the original caption of the video, which she initially shared in January, Olivia wrote, “If I had known earlier in my life that this magical boy would be in my future, I wouldn't have worried so much about all the little things.”
Olivia was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, which led her to undergo numerous surgeries in 30 days, including a lymph node dissection and a double mastectomy. Not only did Olivia experience intense pain after the procedures, but the challenges of not being able to pick up her son made recovery even more difficult.
