Kendall Jenner Wore Archival Givenchy To The 2024 Met Gala

With a theme like “Sleeping Belles: Reawakening Fashion,” fashion fans were primed for celebrities and their stylists to delve into the designer archives for one-of-a-kind and earth-shattering looks. On May 6, Kendall Jenner delivered i raised the bar with a look that has never been worn by anyone else, until tonight.

Jenner wasn't allowed to fit Alexander McQueen's Givenchy dress, which made the fact that it fit like a glove feel even more casual. “It was a miracle that we found him,” Jenner said on the Met Gala red carpet. “He feels destined to be.”

Fall/Winter 1999 Haute Couture Look 14 has only been presented in bust form and has been held in Givenchy's archives for the past 25 years. (And after tonight, it's going right back to where it came from.) Jenner's slinky dress featured more than 100,000 beads and sequins and took 500 hours of hand embroidery to complete.
