The Exorcist: Believer fell well short of expectations in 2023. Then The Exorcist: BelieverThe film's planned sequel lost its release date and director in early 2024. It seemed like the reboot of the famous franchise was in trouble. But now, according to Limit dateMike Flanagan is in talks to direct the next one exorcist film for Blumhouse and Universal Pictures (at one time titled, The Exorcist: The Trickster). Flanagan has an excellent reputation for skillful, atmospheric horror, so he could be just the ticket to get the franchise going again.
While three new exorcist films were envisioned in this reboot attempt, it is not known if Flanagan will direct one or two more films. But if someone can change a franchise, is The Fall of the House of Usher creator.
There is currently no release date for Flanagan's potential exorcist movie We will also have to wait and see if he remains titled The Exorcist: The Trickster.
