It's coming It's coming It really comes close, kind of. There will be a Switch 2 announcement…soon. Nintendo recently revealed that the next generation of Switch consoles, colloquially called Switch 2, would be revealed in April 2025. In a post on Twitter, Nintendo has shared“This is Nintendo President Furukawa. We will be making an announcement about the successor to the Nintendo Switch this fiscal year. It will be more than nine years since we announced the existence of the Nintendo Switch in March 2015. We will be holding a Nintendo Direct this June regarding the Nintendo Switch schedule for the second half of 2024, but note that there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during this presentation.”
Nintendo basically revealed that a Switch 2 is on the way, but don't hold your breath. Knowing that we will make it more about the next generation of Switch consoles in this fiscal year is something, we suppose. And hey, April 2025 isn't too long to wait for news on Switch 2. Having Switch 2 launch in April 2025 would be better, but we're guessing that's not going to happen. Hopefully, however, it will be published not too far away. At this point, we have no choice but to accept this announcement of an announcement for Switch 2.
