Prime Video sure knows how to rock a crowd. During his panel tonight at CCXP Mexico, the streamer decided to release a new trailer for the upcoming season 4 of the boys. With the usual amount of gore, craziness, and funny moments, the trailer revealed what some of the arcs of the new episodes will be, and yes, it looks as crazy as ever. New episodes will begin streaming next month on the platform, on June 13.
The new trailer makes it clear that Homelander (Anthony Starr) is now completely off his leash and doing some serious rebranding at The Seven. The order of business now is to drop the buddy act and make humanity understand that superheroes are basically gods who can make regular people bend to their will. The result is that the country is further divided: some see the leader of the superhero group as a fascist and some believe he is right to exercise his powers to maintain what he sees as order and control.
Meanwhile, Butcher (Karl Urban) comes to the boys to test a daring weapon of last resort that could give them a huge advantage over Homelander and his team. Full of regrets and with little time to make his efforts pay off, he teams up with a mysterious new figure played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (watchmen) in order to use a virus that kills soups. Starlight (Erin Moriarty) stresses that the idea is “crazy and desperate,” but as the saying goes…desperate times call for desperate measures.
Can “boys” get any weirder? Yes, you can
The trailer also suggests that maybe it's time to stop asking if the boys it can be weirder. He Can and Will: This season, it looks like we'll be seeing bulletproof chickens, an ice-skating homelander, carnivorous sheep (or maybe badgers?), a new Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) and, let's not forget, some exploding bosses for good measure.
