Jim Henson was a visionary artist, someone who lit up the world with his creations and stories. His creative mind breathed life into it sesame street, The Muppets, Labyrinthi The Dark Crystal. Henson shaped many childhoods with her joyful spirit. A new Disney+ documentary from director Ron Howard will look back on Henson's career and family life. The trailer of Jim Henson Idea Man promises an intimate look at Henson's story and is making us feel all the feels, especially with her blatant use of “Rainbow Connection” to engage our hearts (in the best way).
Since the trailer has us on the verge of tears, we know we'll need tissues when we watch the documentary. The trailer for the documentary promises conversations with Henson's family and longtime collaborators like the inimitable Frank Oz and even LabyrinthIt's Jennifer Connelly. Howard did it Jim Henson Idea Man with the full participation and cooperation of the Henson family. This means the footage will include never-before-seen personal archival films, photographs, sketches and Henson's personal diaries. Now if Disney can just release a book to go with the documentary!
It looks like this documentary will be a deep and inspiring look at an iconic person who was taken from the world far too soon. Henson died in 1990 at just 53 years old. we are sure Jim Henson Idea Man it will only encourage others to pursue their passions and add more positivity and joy to the world. God knows the world could use it.
The original Disney Branded Television documentary is produced by Imagine Documentaries. Howard also serves as producer alongside Brian Grazer, Sara Bernstein, Margaret Bodde, Justin Wilkes, Mark Monroe and Christopher St. John. Paul Crowder, Meredith Kaulfers and Michael Rosenberg are executive producers.
