Last spring, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures released not one but two films. by Denis Villeneuve Dune: second part was released on March 1 and is currently the second highest grossing film of 2024. Adam Wingard Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire hit theaters on March 25 and is currently sitting at number three for the year. So yes, it makes sense that they would want to do it again. In accordance with Limit datethe two studios have set release dates for the next Monsterverse film and Villeneuve's next film.
The Villeneuve film in question officially has a working title of “Untitled Denis Villeneuve Event Film”. this may indeed be Dune: Messiahthe third film proposed in the dune franchises, based on the second book by Frank Herbert. But it could also be an unrelated Villeneuve film. Either way, this movie is in the books for December 2026.
As for the next Monsterverse movie, we know will be directed by Grant Sputore. Now we also know that it has a release date of March 26, 2027. Indeed, exactly three years after the release of GxK. So get ready for these!
