Wheatbelt crash kills two women

A man has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death following a horror crash in the Wheatbelt which killed two elderly women.

The women, aged 82 and 83, were traveling in a Suzuki hatchback when it was involved in a collision between a Toyota Prado and a road train towing two trailers on the Brand Highway at around 9am on Friday.

Emergency services were called to the scene, north of Cooljarloo, but the women died from their injuries.

The 38-year-old Spalding man allegedly behind the wheel of the Prado was charged over the incident and will appear at Perth Northbridge Magistrates' Court today.

A 12-year-old girl, also believed to be in the Prado, received minor injuries and was treated by paramedics from St John WA.
