Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described Bonza's entry into voluntary administration as “very disappointing” but hopes more low-cost airlines will enter the market.
Bonza went into voluntary administration last week after the company that owns its aircraft lessor tried to repossess its planes, leaving hundreds of travelers stranded across the country.
“Bonza has of course ended his voluntary administration, and it's very disappointing that this has happened,” Albanese told ABC Capricornia radio this morning.

He said consumer rights were being considered as part of the ongoing aviation white paper.
The prime minister said he hoped more low-cost airlines would enter the market, despite the problems faced by Bonza.
“I hope there is,” he said.
“But what we've seen over a period of time is that the aviation industry is a really tough industry, but over the last few decades we've seen a range of low-cost airlines that have been formed for a while and not to last “.
The prime minister said he found it extraordinary how many airlines don't last, but “that's the nature of this industry”.
