DISNEY LORCANA: URSULA’S RETURN Brings ENCANTO Magic

TV

It's almost time Disney LorcanThe next day to arrive. The trading card game of Ravensburger continues to draw inspiration from Disney animation to create thoughtful gameplay with consistently beautiful artwork. The return of Ursula marks the fourth chapter of the game and brings more teamwork, strategy, improving Hero cards and playing with Resist and Challenge keywords. Ravensburger sent nerdy the Disney Lorcan: The Return of Ursula Starter Decks, combining Amber & Amethyst and Sapphire & Steel inks. The general characteristics of each ink follow, but if you're a fan charm, Amber & Amethyst will have your heart. Here are other highlights from the The return of Ursula Home tables.

The return of Ursula Amber & Amethyst Starter Deck

ok ok I enjoyed the cooperative nature of? Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs cards when they released to Rise of the Floodborn? Yes. Their abilities interacted and boosted each other in useful ways if the right cards ended up in your hand at the right time. But it meant turning around a lot of characters who are quite similar. The The return of Ursula Amber & Amethyst Starter Deck brings the same kind of dynamics but with the Madrigal family charm. The variety of characters, which are much more vibrant than the dwarves of snow white, along with the unique support abilities, make for a magical deck with so many opportunities. The main drawback, if you can call it that, is charm the songs will be in your head every time you pick up the deck.

As with any deck you build, the The return of Ursula Amber & Amethyst Starter Deck has its obstacles. Mirabel Madrigal, Gift of the Family, cannot add lore to other Madrigals if you don't have them in hand. However, the 60 card deck has 23 madrigals (if I counted correctly). I'm not calculating odds, but the odds of having a Madrigal in hand seem solid, especially if you can use your MacGuffin early on to re-draw some cards in hopes of getting a Madrigal. You can use Madrigals to stack the story and fast forward. Protect these angels with what you can.

Also remember to try out the new Sing Together mechanic, which lets you use multiple characters to sing a song.

The The return of Ursula Amber & Amethyst Starter Deck includes the following cards. Cards marked with a * are from an earlier version.

3x Agustín Madrigal – Clumsy Dad

The return of Ursula Sapphire & Steel Starter Deck

This deck doesn't have the Madrigals, so it's a little less enjoyable. However, as someone who exclusively played Sapphire & Steel for a while, I see a lot of potential there. Rather than a group of characters that unify the deck, they highlight one type of character: heroes. Characters with the Hero descriptor bring multiple layers of allegiance and loyalty with the Resist and Challenger abilities. The The return of Ursula Sapphire & Steel Starter Deck is the kind of deck that makes you feel excited to play, like you're doing a practice build for “Eye of the Tiger” and ready to research while challenging your opponents.

Most of the cards here are fierce and ready to conquer the day, but you also have some possibilities for lore. One of my favorites is Rapunzel, appreciative artist. It costs five inks, has three inks, and if you have a Pascal in play, you win the room. Then you have the song card Dig a Little Deeper which allows you to look at the top seven cards in your deck (seven!) and keep two of them. The problem is that it costs eight ink and is not inkable. But you can use the Sing Together mechanic. It's the kind of card you probably won't get on the table often, but when you do, it's very satisfying.

Like I said, lots of potential.

The The return of Ursula Sapphire & Steel Starter Deck includes the following cards. Cards marked with a * are from an earlier version.

  • 2x Mickey Mouse – Detective*
