Police helicopter vision reveals close calls during wild police chase through 22 suburbs

WA Police footage shows multiple crashes during a high-speed chase that ventured through 22 Perth suburbs on Thursday night.

Detectives have charged a man who allegedly led police on a chase in a stolen vehicle.

The 37-year-old Northbridge man has been charged with a string of offenses after he was arrested when he crashed on Knutsford Street in Fremantle.

On Tuesday afternoon, the man allegedly stole a Hyundai i40 van from the parking lot of a shopping center in Mirrabooka.

Two days later, at around 7pm on Thursday, police saw the stolen car on Alexander Drive in Dianella and tried to pull the man over.

He is alleged to have sped off, leading police through 22 suburbs from Dianella, to Caversham and Middle Swan, to Wattle Grove, to Murdoch, through Brentwood, Myaree and Melville and finally to Fremantle.

Police allege the man also drove straight into police cars, mounted paths, tried to drive through bollards and drove into a brick wall in the garden of a property on King Street in Fremantle, earlier to crash

The 37-year-old will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Friday.

He has been charged with 13 offences, including three counts of theft, three counts of disqualified driving, reckless driving to elude police and criminal damage and destruction of property.
