It is also not connected to the original exorcist franchise, which has now been put on ice after the poor reception The Exorcist: Believer.

Joshua John Miller is also credited with co-writing the screenplay of The exorcism alongside his co-writing partner on The final girls, MA Fortin. The film will also be executive produced by Andrew Golov (the beekeeper) i Patrick McKinley (American Gods).

Crowe stars as Father Gabriele Amorth – a real-life exorcist who served the Vatican for decades. Amorth is brought in to handle exorcism cases that no one else will do, even ones that those not involved in his faith may find far-fetched.
